A Walk in Astoria Park

Astoria Park

Astoria Park

I went to get some dog food and decide to walk the dog over to Astoria Park in Queens, NYC since it was right where we shopped. The park turned out to be quite a treat on a sunny fall afternoon! The fall colors were fantastic and the bridge views were exhilarating. You can see the Trborough / RFK bridge as well as the HellGate train bridge from this park. The noise from the bridges can be really loud but somehow the park still soothes the soul and refreshes the mind. As always, I took a few pictures with my iPhone 4. Click through to see the sights!

WD Photo walk with Bruce Dorn at the Highline Park in NYC

Highline Photo Walk WD Bruce Dorn

Highline Photo Walk WD Bruce Dorn

I recently won a spot for a photo walk with renowned photographer and videographer Bruce Dorn. He is a very interesting man with an immense body of work and extensive experience in the filed of photography. He took single shot images on the walk that were actually amazing! He told me to vary my angles when photographing our lovely model Tatjana Sinkevica. Overall the walk was very interesting and fun. WD also provided us with a bunch of goodies, highlighted by the MyPassport 2TB Pocket Hard Disk Drive. Slideshow when you continue reading…

iPad Mini is here!

Apple iPad Mini

iPad Mini

The much anticipated iPad Mini was announced today. Basically its an updated Apple iPad 2  in a smaller shell with a 7.9 inch screen and a low price. I think its a little bigger than I expected but the thin profile takes care of the height. I am tempted to buy the 32gb version to play around with. But my trusty iPad 1 will not like it! Now as a photographer you will find this iPad perfect with the bigger size storage configurations. Your can easily carry a couple of different portfolios on the iPad Mini as well as any books and technical manuals you need to have when you are out and about. I am wondering if Skype and Google Voice can make it a viable VoIP (Voice over IP) device? Overall its a very promising device, until you see the Google Nexus 7 Tablet (16 GB), which still seems to be the winner to me in this form factor.

Update: Google Nexus 7 review coming up soon :-)

The Memory of 9/11

9/11 Memories

9/11 Memories

I was looking thru old photos and came upon this batch of pictures I took on the fateful day when the world changed forever.

  • The Neocons won the battle of Evermore
  • The conpiracy buffs got into a lifelong discussion
  • The War Mongers got a reason to live with artificial hearts
  • The oil companies got richer
  • Defense contractors and war criminals became heroes
  • The poor hapless people in Afghanistan and Iraq got bombed to hell
  • Historic rise in greed and tyranny all across the world

Slideshow after the break…
